My Roll of Local Travels

Popped! I jumped out of bed, wiggled my pajamas, and unto my laptop. Somehow, when oblivion strikes in no time, I had done a part of my documentation already (lol).

Let us talk about my local travels. I have pinned more than 30 cities. Let me recall…don’t mind if I will miss two or more, I would account that to my CS thingy.

I began my local hops since 2001. Set aside bar hopping! The problem was digi stuffs were not in those times…and my scanner is not working for quite a time now. So just an array of listings would do right here starting year 2000 when my work base was Cagayan de Oro. By the way, seven long years in CDO was well spent.

So here it is:

2000

Cebu (Highest Peak: the property of the Osmeñas; Mactan; Plantation Bay; Waterfront etc)

Butuan/ Surigao Cities

Camiguin Island

2001

Davao (The SM first months of operation)

Butuan

Duka Bay

Bukidnon (The Pineapple Plantation, Golf Course etc.)

2003

Entire Zamboanga Peninsula

2004

Malacañan Palace

Quezon City (Rembrant Hotel and that Palace-like Hotel, etc)

Pasig

Manila (Baywalk, Manila Bay, Floating Casino, Rizal Park, etc)

2005

Dipolog/Dapitan (Dakak)

2006

Davao (Marco Polo Hotel)

Makati (British Embassy)

Taguig

Paranaque

Pasay

2007

Dumaguete

Bohol

Cebu

…And part of these travels I have passed many cities…and had enjoyed much…

This is one great venue for us youths to share our ideals and put all these into concrete plans. There’s so much to be done and things can only be done if we have desires for real CHANGE.

As we face the world’s most trying times, let us move forward with optimism. We’ll make our ideas bolder and strategize so that we can BE HEARD.

A message to my father…

A message to my father, on the occasion of his 72nd birthday (17 September 2009).

As I’ve grown older and, hopefully, wiser, I’ve come to recognise the qualities in people around me that I believe have true value, and which I myself aspire to possess. Sadly, I’ve also come to understand just how rare it is to find even a few of these qualities in another human being. I have begun to gain some insight into the man my father is in the last nine years (after you passed away), and I’ve realised along the way that I am among a very fortunate few to have a father and role-model who, while as flawed and imperfect as each and every other person, embodies so many of those qualities that I have come to hold dear. Strength of character. An unswerving sense of duty and unfailing loyalty. An abiding and unconditional love of friends and family. Integrity. Honesty. A keen sense of responsibility, and the willingness to selflessly sacrifice for the good of others. Honour. Dad, I hope that one day I am half the (wo)man that you are, and I am proud to be your daughter. Happy birthday Papa!

(original version of the letter was written by Abstract Deviance…I copied this because the same holds true to me–on how i feel for my father)
